Those that are lucky enough to have cable or satellite television can learn anything they want to learn about foods and cooking on the cooking channel. The cooking channel also known as the Food Network channel offers many different cooking shows and celebrities revolving around cooking. You will see recipes that you will want to have and see dishes being prepared right before you eyes.

Many people enjoy watching TV cooking shows because they can be taped, and watched again later. This gives them the opportunity to catch something they may have missed the first time. When I watch a cooking show, I love to watch the chefs cook the meal, try it myself and watch again to check if I'm doing everything correctly. The cooking channel has the most television cooking shows, but they are not limited to just the food network. There are television cooking shows on many channels.

A Few Popular Cooking Shows Are:

• Take Home Chef is a half hour reality cooking show on the Learning Channel. The host, Curtis Stone, meets a stranger in the supermarket and offers to go home with them to cook their meal. It's quite interesting.
  
• Paula's Home Cooking, hosted by Paula Dean, in on the food network and focuses mostly on Southern cuisine and comfort food.
  
• Iron Chef is a Japanese television program produced by FujiTV. In each show, a competitor is matched against the Iron Chef.
  
• Top Chef is an American reality show on the Bravo cable network channel where chefs compete each other weekly.
  

The Martha Stewart cooking show is an excellent example of cooking television shows that are helpful, informative and interesting to the audience. Martha has some delicious meals cooked on her show. Of all the cooking shows, Emeril is my personal favorite. He puts a special emphasis and enthusiasm on everything he cooks and makes everything look delectable.
