Top Chef

The Top Chef TV show is an American realty competition show where chefs compete against each other in weekly cooking challenges. Top Chef on Bravo cable television has been televised for only a couple years, but is highly viewed. The Top Chef contestants are judged by a professional chefs with one or more being eliminated each week until the final Top Chef winner is left. The Bravo Top Chef receives $100,000 in seed money to further his or her culinary career in addition to a suite of Sears Kenmore appliances.

For Bravo TV, Top Chef has been a great addition to their lineup. Top Chef, Bravo announced, will be starting its third installment in the summer of 2007. You can go to their homepage to read the Top Chef spoilers. A Top Chef Spoiler will tell you what has happened and what is expected to happen in future series of the Top Chef show. It will also keep you informed as to who won Top Chef for the first two series.

For Top Chef Season 1, the judges were Katie Lee Joel, Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons with the winner being Harold Dieterle. Katie Lee Joel was also the host, but has been replaced by Padma Lakshmi. There are places online where you can go to see Top Chef 2 spoilers (which were printed too soon) and find out what you need to know about the finalists. An interesting note is that in both series the person who won the first competition also went on to win the final and become Top Chef on TV. The Top Chef homepage has many interested articles for viewing. There is a section where you can submit a favorite recipe as well as get recipes from others. Many of the recipes are from the Season 2 finalists. They have blogs there from the judges about the show, the contestants and winners. There is an interview with the Top Chef winner Ilan Hall with his input on winning and on the competition in general. You can also enter some of their contests online.
