When you go to school to be a chef, one thing you have to ask yourself is what kind of chef do I want to be? Many times, they realize that they want to become a pastry chef. Once they know that they want to be a pastry chef, they then have to get help on how to become a pastry chef.

Many people think that being a pastry chef is not that much of a career. But, if you live in a big city, you can have quite a big career. Many times, the pastry chef careers become rather big, in fact, they may be making pastry items for the rich and famous. Some of the top rated pastry chef colleges are 1) California Culinary Academy, 2) Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago, and 3) Pennsylvania Culinary Institute. Those are just three out of many top rated schools to attend. In order to get a good pastry chef job, you must have an excellent pastry chef education.

Many people think that the duties of pastry chef are easy. Many people take pastry chefs for granted. People often have to ask what is the job description of a pastry chef. Many times, the job description of a pastry chef many change from chef to chef. However, usually, the pastry chef job description is the same from place to place-only some may have more duties. Usually the job description for a pastry chef is a stationary chef in a professional kitchen. His or her duties include having skills with making pastries, desserts, and other baked goods. Once again, that all depends on where you choose to work.
